[Shopify Case Study] Building an E-commerce Site for Overseas Gadgets and Lifestyle Goods: Interview with FUND+

SOLSTAR (S): Could you tell us about the reasons and background for deciding to build an e-commerce site this time?

Mr. Cho: Previously, we sold overseas products to Japan, and our main sales channel was only Makuake. However, we felt that the limited sales channels were an issue, and with Shopify becoming more mainstream in Japan, we began to consider building our own e-commerce site. Among the proposals we received, we were convinced by yours and decided to proceed with this project.

S: How was your experience using SOLSTAR EXPRESS's construction service?

Mr. Cho: I had no experience launching an e-commerce site and didn't know how to select themes or proceed. Therefore, it was very reassuring and helpful to be able to commission your company, which specializes in e-commerce site construction.

S: How was the response from the assigned director?

Mr. Cho: Overall, I felt it was very good. They responded meticulously to even the smallest details, which allowed us to proceed with peace of mind.

S: How was the development process?

Mr. Cho: We had a kickoff meeting at the beginning, and after that, communication was mainly via email. I felt that using Chatwork (for chat communication) when necessary would also be good.

S: How was the schedule until delivery?

Mr. Cho: Since the foundation of the e-commerce site was solidly built, there were no major problems. It was very good that categories and other elements were created in advance.

S: Throughout the entire service, please tell us if there were any difficulties or areas for improvement.

Mr. Cho: I felt that user manuals and operating procedures would be very helpful. In addition, it would be even better if there were explanatory materials for theme functions (Cream by SOLSTAR).

S: Please tell us about your future activities.

Mr. Cho: Although the site has just been completed, I feel that we need to focus on attracting customers from now on. We plan to consider advertising strategies and engage in email marketing for existing customers.
